Biography
Rachel David grew up in Maryland attended Oberlin College and graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2004. She was introduced to metalworking in 7th grade shop class and resumed her study in 2001 and has pursued it unconditionally since. A collection of her work can be seen in The Anvil’s Ring of summer, 2006, and (t)here magazine issue 11, and CUE magazine November 2009. In August of 2007 she was part of a two person show at D.O.C.S gallery (nola), and has been involved in several group shows in New Orleans LA, Brooklyn NY, Kalamazoo MI, and Atlanta GA, including the B space (atl) in September of 2006, the Brooklyn Lyceum in November 2006, Smartshop Gallery (MI) in July and August 2008, the Oyster factory in February 2009, Coup d’Oeil art consortium July-August 2009, and the Houston Center for contemporary Craft January-May 2010. Her first solo show is in September of 2010 at Coup d’Oeil Art Consortium. Rachel works in her shop and garden in the 9th Ward of New Orleans sweating and dreaming.
